How many women do you know raising their family alone? It is all too common today for men to be M.I.A. Women are attending school, maintaining employment, and raising children while attempting to maintain their sanity. Too many men have forgotten the principles of manhood and therefore are not teaching them to our young men. Too many men have walked away from their responsibilities and dumped their children on society. Too many men either do not understand the ramifications of their actions or they do not care. Whatever the justification something has to change. Young people today are suffering because of lacking father figures. I know all too well the feeling of rejection. Like many of us, my father was M.I.A. and my search sent me on a downward spiral. In my search for love I allowed sex and drugs to become my conduit for misery. My mother has always been there for me, but I wanted to experience a daddy’s love. It was not until adulthood when I gained a little wisdom that I understood the source of my pain. It is sad to imagine that this is so many children’s experience. Men we need you to step up and get into position. Everyday our youth are dying mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. When will it end? Ignorance perpetuates ignorance. Fathers, uncles, brothers, and friends we need you! The children you may be rejecting are possibly the murderers, rapists, gang bangers, or prostitutes of tomorrow. There is no justification for absence. If you see a young man being steered in the wrong direction it is your responsibility to fill that void and teach him manhood. In the beginning, God gave Adam dominion over the Garden of Eden but He said that Adam needed a woman, a helpmate to watch over the earth. Do not miss this! God never intended for man or woman to do things alone, especially parenting. It takes two and men it takes you.
